More than 150 Years of History

The Fort Smith National Cemetery is located on South 6th Street in Fort Smith, Arkansas. It began in the early 1840s, eventually being elevated to a national cemetery in 1867. The grounds have undergone expansions multiple times, and the cemetery now takes up 32 acres. The cemetery was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
